We built our brand the way we would build our home. With family at the centre, with colour and comfort in mind, and with respect for craft and cost.

Where It All Started

Matthew learned the trade by watching his father Des at Des Kelly Carpets, taking in the basics of quality, value, and service from the ground up. At 21 he struck out on his own, carrying what he learned from his dad and determined to build something he could one day pass to his children. Matthew has always loved to explore, travelling to markets in Asia and shows across Europe, and brought back one of a kind pieces that encouraged people in Ireland to be bold and brave with their furniture and home decor.

Over nearly 40 years he kept the same simple promises. Choose well made products. Keep prices fair. Treat every customer like a neighbour. That spirit is the foundation of M. Kelly Interiors and the thread that runs from Matthew’s father to Matthew and now to his daughters.

From Father to Daughters

We grew up around interiors, from warehouse floors to showrooms and visits to Maison&Objet in Paris. It has been part of our everyday life since we were small. That is why we care about how things are made, how they wear, and what truly belongs in a home. Lauren, the eldest, leads day to day with experience in marketing, media, and operations. She manages supplier relationships, delivery standards, and customer care. Jordan focuses on design, branding, and the website experience, making it simple and inspiring to shop from home.

We envision an online space where customers can come for inspiration and leave with pieces they love and the confidence to make them their own.

A New Chapter

  • After 40 years in brick and mortar, we encouraged our dad to bring the business fully online. For the last six months we have been rebuilding everything with care. A clearer brand identity. Better photography and product detail. A website that feels calm, simple, and easy to use.

    Our aim is a user experience you will want to come back to, whether you are choosing a single lamp or fitting out a whole space. This is our first season online and we are always improving. In these first few months we are testing, learning, and refining.

  • Your feedback is welcome and encouraged. Tell us what works and what needs work, and we will fix it. You can reach us by email or phone, and if you are a managing company or contractor you can create a trade account to make re ordering simple.
